Default Silverado owner maybe new Ram owner

Hi all, I own a nnbs 07 Silverado LTZ loaded 4x4 ext cab with the 5.3 leveled etc. I am now thinking of trading it for a 2011 Ram 1500 4x4 Big Horn QC Hemi, 20" chrome clad, beautiful deep water blue. I am just a bit concerned about reliability I have owned two of the newer designed Chevys both 07s and have had great luck with no issues so I'm just wondering about reliability with the newly designed Dodge. Let me say that I drove a new Dodge ram 1500 4x4 hemi in 2010 and it scared me off because it had a stalling problem while driving 70 mph on the highway it stalled twice and this was brand new off a lot. I really loved the Ram I just drove, it handled great and was quieter inside on the highway than the Chevy and the ride was fantastic especially for having 20s on it. If anyone has anything to add as far as the new Dodge if you are happy/unhappy that would be real helpful. I'm ready to pull the trigger this weekend on the Dodge but I'm a bit hesitant, I'm pretty sure I can get 10,000 off the Dodge, list is around 37,000.00 so it seems like a decent deal. One last thing, I'm not new to Dodge I owned a 2001 3/4 ton 4x4 QC and another QC 3/4 ton W/Hemi and a 1500 QC with the Hemi and had good luck except for a bad fuel pump in the 01 and a ticking hemi in the 1/2 ton but i'm not sure about the newly designed Ram.... Thanks

Damn phone.....

I have taken it in for all RRTs, which 09 had a few more given it was the first year of the truck. Only other issue was water in the puddle lights, which they fixed.

I have had my 2009 for two plus years and have not had any problems at all. I pull a 2008 23 foot Bryant 2 hours one way 2 times a month in the summer and haven't had any transmission problems. The Hemi has lots of power and has never stalled on me. I absolutely love the truck, traded in a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500. There is no comparison between the 2.

I traded a 08 Sierra ext cab for my 09 Ram. I don't regret it AT ALL. It's been a good truck, looks good, powerful, reliable, rides good and is still plenty capable.

55 000 kms on mine, got the regular recalls done and just getting my torque converter replaced under warranty from dealership. Besides that i love my truck, bo0ught it for the power and the aggressive looks of dodge and i can't complain.

Oh yeah when i first got the truck i rolled it at 3000 kms and almost totalled it (20 000$) damage and i was stuck driving a gm like yours, which was a nice truck but not comparable to the dodge, i had to drive it 3 months. Did i ever miss my dodge!

If you get the chrome clads make sure you wash them and get right into the corners and be sure to remove brake dust and or salt weekly I would say to avoid the issues some of us are having, I have been having mine washed at the dealer so they replaced them since they were at fault for not cleaning them really what could they say? So I bought winter rims and tires now so just summer on the chromes clads and keep em waxed we should be good. I don't imagine they are gonna replace them under warranty all the time. This was at 2 years exactly.

I had an F-150 for 6 years before. No problems. I've now had my 2010 for a year now, no issues. In reality you can have problems with any truck, no matter who makes it. Look at any of the truck forums, any make and model and you'll see people who love them or hate them and all flavors in between. (Of course some issues are a direct result of people modifying their rides.) I think my truck rides better than the wife's 2006 E350 Mercedes. Bottom line, I really like my Ram!!

8 months and 24,000 miles; the truck has been great. Have one puddle lamp that went out, no other failures.
