Question Fog Lights in Grill

Hey guys,

I got a 09 SLT, and i'm looking to throw in some fog lights. Has anyone here placed them on the inside of the grill? Any recommendations as to which brand fits/gives you the least hassle?

Thanks!

I have rectangle hellas in mine....they are great! Only 55 watts but still work great...better than highbeams. Real easy to install...tool me about 3 hours...but I'm. Very picky....I put my switch on the center console right in front of the shifter.

Been wanting to do this myself since our stock headlights suck so much.

I have them behind my Grill. It is an 08, but gives you 4th Gen guys a little taste of what they are like. They make a HUGE difference when driving off road or on a poorly lit road. Just FYI, check your local laws about fog lights or additional lights on a truck because in California you can only run 2 sets of lights at one time (so running these with my stock fogs and headlights is illegal) and even running them without the covers on the lights during the day is illegal, they must be covered if you are driving on public roads. Anyway, here are some pictures:

The 08 grill is different as your whole grill lifts open with the hood. The 4th gens have the grill down when hood open... Not sure where to mount to and the whole process!!! Any info would be great

Nope, nothing like that at all. They don't get too hot. The other day I hit the switch with my knee on accident and I had the covers on them. They were on all the way home from work, (about 15 mins) and didn't even warp or melt the plastic covers that were directly on the lights.

I realize that the grill of the 09+ trucks are different, so I am not sure without looking behind the grill how to mount these lights like this. My brother has an 09, maybe I will take a look at it tomorrow and post back some ideas.

That is exactly what I want to do.

Did you have to make mounts for the lights? Drill? Can you explain the process please?

Thanks
