Just put 305/45/22 wheels & tires on my 2010 ram. First shop balanced and I couldn't go over 40 and whole truck was shaking very badly. So today had another shop try. Better just a little shake over 55 but very noticible. But now I notice truck seems to be drifting left to right. I might be ok if tires were mudders. But their basic street tread pattern. Please someone what do I need to do to fix this problem. I normally buy a new truck and just run it stock. But this time I thought I'd something different and now I'm kicking myself in the butt.
There are a couple of things that could be wrong. First, you may have a bad tire. Some are defected and require alot of extra weight. Unlikely, but I have seen it before. And second, how much weight do they have on your wheels for balance? If it's alot, they can turn the wheel 180 degrees and remount. Then when they re-balance it should take less.
Remove the brake retaining clips off the wheel studs. The factory wheels are clearanced, aftermarket ones are not. It'll make your wheel not mount flush to the rotor and cause it to wobble.
new to all this. Hate to sound stupid but what is hub centric rings and where do I buy them. Also feels like truck sways back & forth. Waiting to get pulled over by po,pos thinking I'm drunk.
