I baked mine and I f''ed up the seal as well I put them on yesterday and when I came out this morning I had some water built up inside. So they are off again and I'm resealing them I used black rtv. What did you use to seal yours and do you have waster issues?
no mine are half assed and i used calk and tape like i said only need to use it for 3 days new lights will be here weds
can i trouble you for a head on shot of that, want to see the full effect of the black outters and chrome reflectors going to do mine just not sure if i want that look or the full black look
i would not black out the reflectors then your light out put will diminish greatly
well I just re glued mine I guess I'll have to wait and see if they hold up tomorrow if not I guess I'll have to tape them. I don't mind the f'ed up caulking job that I did cause for the most part you don't see them. I guess if I can't get it I'll have to save up some cash so I can get some new lights.
When I did mine, one side fogged up the other was fine. Took it out and resealed it. Still leaked! What I feel happened is when prying on the housing, small cracks must form at the crease that let the moisture in. The last time I resealed, I used a hair drier to make sure all moisture was gone, then sealed out around the crease. That was 4 or 5 months ago. So far so good!
HTHs!
ive been looking to do the same thing, however after my experience on my 3rd gen, I will never do them myself again. everything went fine, only it took up way too much time and I ended up with dust in em after doing everything else perfect. i'd gladly pay someone else (a reasonable amount) to do it
