Default Gear grinding sound?

So I've been noticing the last few weeks that I've been getting a grinding sound on occasion when shifting into reverse. Its not constant but instead is a quick little gear grinding sound, half second at most. It all started 2 weeks ago. I shifted it into reverse and got an aweful sound of gears grinding and it stopped on its own after approx 1.5secs. Anyone else had any gearbox issues?

I'm not sure where the sound is coming from but, it only happens when shifting into reverse. If it keeps it up, I'll have to bring it in. I don't want to be screwing anything up.

Sounds like a transmission issue if it only does it in rev. I know that these transmissions like to have the engine running for a short bit before putting them into gear. It seems that the torque converters tend to drain back into the pan after sitting for awhile. I don't know if this is your issue or not. I would have it looked at while under warranty.

Took Hemrietta into the dealerhsip yesterday and there is indeed a problem. The rep said that there is a problem with the valve guide (or something along those lines) and that their head trans guys had to get together and figure out the fix and get parts. I'm waiting on a call back to set up the appt. They said it wasn't something that will make her undriveable but, it may get worse.
