I had only minor RRT's and no recalls, but I think that they may have collected on the three that were'nt serviced...so I've heard. As far as the F150 goes, my nepfew has a 2010 and it has the ugliest dashboard of ever seen on a truck. And the rear saggs too much when he pulls his trailers though he has had no problems with it yet. And I don't like Range Rovers...not my cup of tea. If I didn't own a Ram, I'd get a Toyota which I think looks pretty good and not much different in style compared to the Ram. But no more new trucks for me, I'll buy them used and out of warranty...I don't trust the warranties or any of todays car makers.

Quote: Chrysler changed the design of the steering...so they say. It's my guess that they changed the manufactor of the materials to save money and it back fired on them. I remember a guy here on the DF claiming that he had this problem and they repaired it but gave him a hard time. Only this guy had to have it repaired three times and was threatening a law suit fearing for the safety of his family.
Thank you very much for this information! This is why I use this forum. It seems to be the only place to get a straight, plain English answer to a question such as what I posed.

And to think, this is only the tip of the iceberg for dodge problems within these 4th gen trucks

Most of the guys complaining, aren't even effected by the recall. It is only for HeavyDuty chassis. IFS 1500's are not included.

Quote: I saw the post that you originally wrote and removed...or someone did. Is this what we have to look forward to from our Chrysler reps and dealers...which one do you work for? The first time I went in to take care of my RRT's, they fixed two out of five and told me to make an appointment for the other three. Later on down the road I came in to make the appointment and found that the other three had mysteriously disappeared. I had also asked them to check a leak I had coming from the tranny pan. They tried to tell me that I needed a fluid change at 30k miles anyway and offered me a discount but I declined. I later on found out that I don't have to change it until 120k miles unless I frequently trailer or tow. I bought it in Feb 09 and that was a while back and I have have 28k miles on it today. When they told me that I had no more RRT's I told them to check the forums and see for themselves. They replied that they don't go to the forums and don't know of any RRT's or problems and that they have seen only a few come in. Yet here you are and two others as well...are you here representing Chrysler or are you here as personal owners? Bottom line is, this guy has every right to complain and he has every right to be here and he doesn't have to leave unless DF tells him to. He doesn't get discounts like you do, nor does he get a free vehicle. And he definately doesn't get service like you do, and though I like my truck...neither do I. My dealer seems to be nice, but they've done nothing but lie and decieve me. People come here to share their experiences with their purchase, both good and bad for the benifit of others. What ever part of Chrysler you work for needs improvment because of people like you. That's why they suck, they have no clue of how to deal with public relations and you are a prime example of it. Maybe I'm wrong about all of this but I know what he feels like. Those "Built Ram Tough" commercials ain't looking to good right now...wonder how many law suits it took to get the recalls going?
Yes I work for Chrysler as some on here do, but I'm not on here as a rep. You guys have questions about warranty issues or what may be causing a certain problem, I try and help the best I can. I have owned 2 prior dodge trucks 3 if you include my 2010 Ram, all bought before I started at Chrysler. I get the same discounts as everyone else, the same service and I have and see the same issues, so don't try and put me on a higher pedestal that you think I'm on cuz I'm not.

As for my comments towards him, he showed up throwing a bitchfit blindlessly blaming whoever for whatever and 90% of the problem isn't those people. 4th gen rams are completely new from the ground up. So new problems are to be expected and it usually takes years to straighten out, just like fords or Chevys. You come on here and read some people have problems, some don't, some have a to and some have 1 or 2. It's like that no matter what brand you own. Part of the problem is Chrysler buying cheaper parts from suppliers, but the end result is a cheaper price for your vehicle. The paint issues, the leaks, the recalls all happen across the board for every car company on the planet, so why come in here and blindlessly blaming people when it's not their fault?

I'm on the forums as an average Joe with some extra knowledge, I have some of the same problems you guys do but you will never see me go off the depend randomly blaming people. I have leaks and rattles and even a little rust, I have the mds shudder, my truck is $38k and even though I'm paying what I'm paying and I have these problems, I still love my truck. I'll still choose dodge over ford or GM. If he is truley that fed up and unhappy with his truck, sell it and get something else but be prepared to have similar issues. Or maybe he will get luck and have a truck with no problems. But for anyone to sit here and act like GM or Ford don't have these issue is down right stupid.

As for your issue with the dealers, dealers are the main source of customer relations problems, not all dealers are bad, but most are. Most don't want to take the time unless they are making money from it and then some don't even want to bother, but I can't help you there as I'm a low man on the pole

If you want to blame Chrysler for the problems with your vehicle, thats fine with me, if you want to say Chrysler makes ****ty products, hey by all means, be my guest. But dont go off the deep end saying random **** becuase you dont know who to actually blame or dont know what your talking about.

Since he is having that many issues, he could lawyer up and try and Lemon law the vehicle, or try and get a buyback for a different truck, he has a couple options, but bitching on a forum, about the wrong people, isnt going to help him solve his problems

You're the lowest man on the totem pole and you drive a 40k dollar truck...are they hiring, lol? You must be a salesman because you're pretty good at getting people to sell their trucks on here...keep up the good work, lol!

I must agree, it is the dealer that causes a lot of unsatisfied customers. It is more the management causing the problem, than the actual mechanics in the shop. One of the main problems that I see that the service writers don't know squat about automobiles. It is hard to explain a problem to someone that doesn't know the difference between a ball joint and a ball bearing. Then, there are many dealers that once they sell you a vehicle, can care less about keeping you happy after the sale. I am very lucky to have a good dealer that I deal with. I have one 4 miles from the house, that was so bad they they lost their 5 star rating several years ago. I drive across town to go to my dealer who has always bent over backwards to keep me happy. They even call me by name.
Unfortunately, many do not have more than one dealer in their area, and if this dealer is crappy, then you get a sour taste in your mouth.
Yes there are some issues with these trucks that will be sorted out eventually. I am sure that some of these issues stem from Chrysler being broke and about out of business just a couple of years ago and they were forced to buy the cheapest parts that they could just to stay afloat. Now that things are getting better, the quality will continue to improve.
Those who are unfortunate enough to have gotten a truck with ab bad tie-rod end of is having differential issues, I don't blame you for being upset. You spend that kind of money and expect it to last a very long time.
People will come on here and complain about this and that is perfectly fine. Others will come on here and defend a brand that they are loyal to and that is fine too. It's ok to disagree. Coming on here with an opposing view and calling other members names will not be tolerated!! We are adults here and should act that way.
