New Ram!
Hey guys, so I traded in my 07 1500 Laramie to a new 2011 Sport. Might I say wow! So glad that I did...I liked the way everyone was talking about the new dodge and man now I can say I am one of them!
Anyways, just wondering what everyone is doing for fuel mileage with 3.92 gears, and maybe something that I should know that people are figuring out with these new trucks.
Anything to stay away from?
Any cheap mods that provide amazing power increases? I do have a bullydog GT that I will be putting in after I put a few more Kms on!
Any tips? tricks?
I know I had HIDs in my 07 and flickering problems out the tailpipe! Anyone put HIDs in the new ones?
Any info is appreciated, time to share and learn new things on the new baby! Thanks in advance!

congrats on the new truck. I did a superchips 93 octane tune with the custom shift schedule option, torq mgmt practically disabled, MDS disabled, and shift points set at 6000 rpm. With the 3.92 gears, I said 'wow' when I did a couple 0-100 mph WOT sprints when I first drove it after the tune was in.
do mixed driving and on average, see 17.6-18.4 mpg on the EVIC with the summer temps.

Rear end recall? I just bought it like two weeks ago, would the dealer send out a recall notice if it was not done?
kddsRam: Did you break your truck in like 2-3000 kms before tuning it? I have a bullydog GT from my 07 that does have a tune for the 11s, but im a little skeptical to install the tune before that. I doubt the motor has settled in before that.

I installed HID's just the other day. i'll do a write up on it right now actually
as for the recall, dodge sends em in the mail. I was just at the dealer the other day and they didnt mention anything. I was moving a box of old trucks parts the other day and noticed where I had dodge mail sitting in it, it was recall info. Dealer didnt even bother to say anything at all, when they had the truck for an entire day

Good dealers do all recalls and RRTs before you take delivery. If they do not they stand to loose money as you could take it anywhere to have them done. They do get paid from dodge when they perform these items. Not to mention you are more likely to buy again from them if they do things like this. Sad part is not all dealers care.
I will contact them to check and see if they did anything, good thing to know!

Ya, truck is my daily driver and I had a few thousand miles on it by the time I got the tuner, since not much was available in 09 and I had to wait anyway. Not sure who even supports the 2011 pcm codes yet since it appears just like your home computers get hacked with viruses, so are the autos, and security changes are different with the 2011's.
