I'd fight that, engine manifold = part of the engine = drivetrain!!!

You could try, but its an exhaust manifold not an engine manifold and not considered an internal part of the engine.

The powertrain warranty covers the cylinder block and all internal parts of gasoline engines, the transmission case and internal parts of the transmission, plus the drive system and any internal parts that the drive system relies on. The warranty will cover parts and labor costs needed to repair any of these items should they fail.

From my 09 warranty book under lifetime warranty, exhaust manifolds is listed as a covered part.
since it is, would think the bolts would be also.
E. Parts Covered
The Lifetime Powertrain Limited Warranty covers
these parts and components of your vehicle's
powertrain supplied by Chrysler Motors LLC:
Gasoline Engine:
cylinder block and all internal
parts; cylinder head assemblies; timing case, timing
chain, timing belt, gears and sprockets; vibration
damper; oil pump; water pump and housing; intake
and exhaust manifolds; flywheel with starter ring
gear; core plugs; valve covers; oil pan; turbocharger
housing and internal parts; turbocharger wastegate
actuator; supercharger; serpentine belt tensioner;

seals and gaskets for listed components only.

pedro dog... the dealer ship replaces the manifold gaskets if the bolts are broken. and also the manifolds if they are warped. but when it came out as an rrt and the bolts were not broken we just replaced the bolts kinda like preventive maintence in a way

Correct, the exhaust manifold warps and of course you loose the gasket, all because of a cheap bolt. Scariest part is haveing to pull the head to remove a broken bolt. It Absolutely *is* covered under the lifetime warranty, I have all the receipts to prove it. I would hate to think what all that would have cost W/O a warranty

I was thinking that since it is an RRT, they will not always replace the bolts unless the owner complains about the noise that others have described as a tick, "cricket", noisy lifter, etc, etc. To me by the time it's making noise, its already leaking and doing some damage to the gasket. In my case, the dealer did replace the 4 bolts when I was in the shop the last time without me even asking for it - I wasn't hearing any leaks.

If they are replacing the gasket when the bolts are broken, then good for them!

Ya, the lifetime powertrain warranty is pretty inclusive and fair. One dealer I spoke to tried telling me "if oil touches it, its covered.". That made me look in the manual and I found the details as noted in Mike's post. This is a covered repair if you have the powertrain warranty.

Does anyone know the part numbers on these bolts, so I can replace them as PM since I am a second owner. I sure as heck don't want to have to pay to have the head removed in the future if a bolt breaks off!
