Well I took my truck to a different dealer to get a second opinion when I had my factory remote start installed last week, and guess what. They have to replace two of my three planetary gears. The service guy said one was wearing really bad, and the other was not near as bad but they are going to replace it anyways. So now I have a rental 2010 1500 without a hemi and it is gutless as all get out. So if anyone else gets a whine in any gear but not others take it in until a dealer is willing to get it fixed.

What the heck would cause this issue. The truck only has 22K miles on it I bought it with 16K miles and it had made this noise since day one when I got it. My guess is that this truck had the noise from the day the previous owner bought the truck brand new. I don't know how the heck a planetary gear can all the sudden just start to wear uneven with this low of miles on it. The transmission has been flushed with filters changed twice. Once when I bought the truck for the CPO warranty, and once three days later because the tech from who did the CPO flush did not get a good seal on the pan gasket. There was a very small drip I noticed, but the fluid level never went down and I took it in right away.

Anyways any of you tranny guys out there think there is anything else I should be worried about with this transmission now?

Well got the truck back and it seems to be fixed. Although I checked the fluid when I got home and it was 1 qt low. I don't see any leaks, so it looks like the dealership did not take there time warming up the tranny and make sure the fluid level was right. I had an extra quart at home at least to top it off. I looked up all the parts online dealer pricing would put this repair at about $1,300 in parts plus however much labor they had in it. Think god this was all under warranty. I did not have to pay for anything including the rental Dodge Ram 1500.

Parts list:
4799503-AG
4799586-AB
4799500-AG
4799501
4799619-AE
68009859-AB
5013458-AA
5010884-AA
6036734-AA
6036684-AA

Good thing I paid the extra $400 to get the CPO warranty as well with $150 deductible. I am covered for about 4 more years.

Here we go again!

Well I thought it was fixed, but it started doing it again today. I can hear it plain as day, just like it was before they replace all this stuff.

I made another appointment for Tuesday. Since I am the second owner on this truck, but it is still under the 3/36 warranty does the lemon law apply. This will be the third time for this same issue. I am going to press them for a new tranny.

I wonder if the first owner had issues trying to get this fixed, and that is why they got rid of the truck. It has made this noise since day one when I bought it.

What steps would I need to take in order to get Dodge to put a new tranny in this thing rather then trying to fix the current POS.

Took the truck to the dealer again today, and no one can figure out what is wrong with my truck. The service department faxed there Chrysler representative all the paper work on my truck with everything that has been done so far to try and fix this issue. We will see what happens next. I just wish they would drop a new transmission in it and be done.

tick tick tick.....

I wonder how long it will take for Chrysler to get back to my dealer. I have never had an issue like this before where the dealer has to get Chrysler involved.

No word from Chrysler this week. Issues like this is why Chrysler gets a bad name. Think god my tranny has not blown up yet. Could you imagine what it would be like if this thing blew up pulling my fifth wheel at 70 mph. Three times to the dealer for the same issue, to two different dealers, $1,300 of new parts, and now waiting for Chrysler to answer my local dealer as to how they can proceed.

Nice

At least this time the money is not coming out of my pocket for there mistakes unlike my last Dodge truck.

Default Help!!!!

Ok what the heck do I do now.

The Chrysler representative said that they think it is just a sharp tooth on the carrier bearing, and they want me to keep driving it to see if it gets better. This is BS I have put 10K miles on the truck, and 1K miles on since they worked on the tranny. I still have the same noise, and it is getting worse again.

What can I do?

I tell you what this is making have a really bad taste in my mouth for Chrysler. First my 2008 6.7 was a POS, and now my 2009 is having unresolved issues as well. Both had major tranny issues.

Any help at all would be helpful. Who can I contact to help me get this issue resolved. If I take it in again that will make it the 4th time with the same issue. This sucks I really like the truck heck I just put a $400 factory remote starter in it.

I contacted Chrysler directly via email about my issues with my truck. They called me with in 4 hours very good service. The lady said that they cannot buy back my truck because each state has different lemon laws. My truck was purchased in Nebraska, and I guess there law states that in order for my truck to fall under lemon law the issue has to happen within one year of the original purchase date which would have been in 2010 since my truck is a 2009.

So she stated they have raised the priority on my truck, and have assigned a Chrysler engineer to work with our local dealer on this issue. Chrysler is going to be contacting my dealer directly today to see what can be done.

In case anyone has an issue with your truck that you cannot get resolved this is where I went to submit my issue with Chrysler directly.
