4x4 3.92 rear
I usually keep out of MPG discussions but I will put my $.02 in here. I have had an 04 QC 4X2 HEMI, an 05 QC 4X4 HEMI and my current truck is a 2012 CC 4X4 HEMI and the absolute best I ever got on a tank of 89 octane was 18.7 MPG going across KY at around 60-65 MPH on cruise with the 04 4X2. I left the gas station going straight to the 4 lane drove gently on the slightly rolling hills until I needed fuel and went straight to the gas station and calculated at the 18.7 number. The best I have done with a 4X4 is 17.3 with my current truck going to GA. I would pay good money to anyone who can show me how I can get more than 18.5 with my 2012 CC 4X4. JMO and experience.
BTW, the mileage you ARE getting does not sound too horrible for a CC.
I understand that the mileage folks gets varies considerably, driving habits, blends, ALTITUDE, etc. I drive a RCSB and it weighs just a tad over 4770LBS, that is why I can get the mileage I do - none the less, it is a 4x4 V8 with 3.92 gears. Even the NEW RCSB Hemi Rams are listed at 20MPG freeway. As has been correctly pointed out here, my smooth street tires make a difference as well. I do not know how to make a CC 4x4 get over 20MPG on the freeway, but it’s not impossible with a RCSB

So please tell me how you have a RCSB 4 wheel drive that weighs 230 lbs less. My truck was weighed at a metal salvage yard, and their scale is their business so I'm sure it's correct and checked regularly. I never got anywhere near the mileage you're claiming and tried different ways for the 8 years I owned the truck

even though the weight makes a difference, it's mostly the aerodynamics of the new rams that make the biggest difference. That's why the difference is small for the street driving versus the hwy. The MDS works because of the aerodynamics are better.
Not trying to start an argument but Aerodynamics of a brick is still a brick. Lol.
If you want a truck, you get bad mileage. Some get better than others.
Like F150.
Built like a brick but gets good mileage.

I see it as, we get FAR better mpg than even just 10 years ago. Some of us even get better than others. I`m certainly not bitchin about what i get for mpg`s...lol. I meen really folks, ther are CAR`S out there that dont even get the mpg that some of these trucks get, today, out there, and just what the hell can you do with a car. Instead of calling somebody out on their great mpg and saying it isnt so just because YOU dont get the same mpg, maybe the thing to do is, to figure out how others are getting better mpg. Just because a window sticker says "this vehicle" is advertised to get this mpg, dosent always meen its true... some WILL do better than others... a lot still comes down to driving habits.
LOL, not amazing. Your old Hemi did not have MDS nor did it have aluminum panels, suspension etc. I have a surprise for you, the 4th gens are lighter than the 3rd Gens - they hide that info in things called spec sheets...... I had mine weighed as well, that is where I got the weight figure. I too had a 3rd Gen, 04 in fact that got NOWHERE near the mileage my 09 does, so we agree - Cheers.
My 06 did have MDS. 06 was the first year for MDS Whatever aluminum panels or suspension u might have would be negated by the weight of the transfer case, and second differential. not to mention you're in Colorado Springs, and the last time I looked you are a mile above sea level and still claiming these mileage figures. Sorry, I cant believe you one bit. You must coast downhill a lot and have someone pull you up the other side

You're starting to sound like a grumpy old grouch now.
