Anyone claiming to get over 20+mpg's in an 8cyl 4wd Ram is full of it. I know the 8spds can get 21mpg, but not very many have the 8spd....

Really, thats the best advise you can give the guy?
If you have 2wd, then it will be relatively cheap. 4wd, you'll need to do both differentials and it will be upwards of $1500 to have done.
If your going to spend the money and time and have 35's, go with the 4:10's. You can get gears from just about anywhere. Most places will charge ~$3-400 for the install. Just be sure they have done Dodge differentials before because there are special tools needed.

You are incorrect - I can EASILY get 22-24MPG at 65MPH. Anyone who would like to bet money against it is welcome to ride along, place your bets gents.

My money is on HEMI_ROM...!!!
My 2010 5.7 QC 4WD (3.55gears) pulls 23mpg highway (non-ethanol 91octane) in summer months. (Hand Calc..!)

I usually keep out of MPG discussions but I will put my $.02 in here. I have had an 04 QC 4X2 HEMI, an 05 QC 4X4 HEMI and my current truck is a 2012 CC 4X4 HEMI and the absolute best I ever got on a tank of 89 octane was 18.7 MPG going across KY at around 60-65 MPH on cruise with the 04 4X2. I left the gas station going straight to the 4 lane drove gently on the slightly rolling hills until I needed fuel and went straight to the gas station and calculated at the 18.7 number. The best I have done with a 4X4 is 17.3 with my current truck going to GA. I would pay good money to anyone who can show me how I can get more than 18.5 with my 2012 CC 4X4. JMO and experience.

Driving habits is the first answer... most claim they have perfect driving habits when they actually dont, when trying to get better mpg. Try to think of it as... when you push the gas pedal, you`re using gas... stay off the gas, you dont use near as much gas. Coast as much as you can... when a hill is coming, feather the pedal to gain momentum before reaching a hill... coast up the hill within reason.
Wheel alignment is BIGTIME critical... most dont even realize how critical it is. Next is GOOD synthetic oil... NON ETHANOL gas... smooth tread STREET tires (NOT truck tire winter treads, or what they call these half and half all season garbage tires they sell today that have worthless rolling resistance) with 45+psi... less stops/idling & less remote starting... less heat & a/c (another words, shut it off when not needed... its a drain on mpg`s)... lighter gear lubes (if you DONT tow). Everything electrical in your vehicle is a mpg hog, shut it all off when not needed. Every little thing matters AND effects mpg. Also, take into consideration, BLENDED gasoline during colder seasons... thats half the problem right there...!!! Todays gasoline is very poor quality to say the least.
Edit:
I will also add, that with EVERY oil change (4,000 miles) i put a whole bottle of Gumout "ALL IN ONE" fuel system cleaner in the tank.
The engine runs soooo much better and smoother after adding it... smoother running engines always obtain better mpg.
