You conveniently disregard the OP original question, then call those of us that average 20 or more MPGs on the highway liars for your self edification. This is a typical approach of haters, tear everyone else down to make yourself look better.

You're right, you don't talk about averaging 20mpg for everyday driving, as a matter of fact you haven't talked about everyday driving at all, and that's where it chaps my azz because you are giving the impression that 20mpg and over is normal. I can see 20 under perfect conditions but when someone thinking about buying a hemi truck asks about the truck, he doesn't need to hear about all these perfect condition figures. He needs to hear what people under real world conditions achieve, not just when you are driving on a flat road with a tailwind and you are getting 20mpg. You might average 20 mpg for a tank or two while driving to your cabin, but not a monthly average or a yearly average....just a perfect condition average while traveling to you cabin. I never called anyone a liar, just disagree with what your portraying about these trucks

Rom....I have used a 93 tune on 87 octane here in Tennessee, and no knocks at all. It depends on what your anti-knock sensors are doing, as far as retarding ignition. My old trucks knock sensors retarded 15 degrees at WOT, and I probably could have run it on kerosene if I had wanted to. I can see some of your reasoning but what you gain on flat land or descents, will be basically negated by those uphill pulls when your engine is gasping for air and making poor power. An engine under strain, gets very poor mileage, and at 7000 ft you're going to strain a lot when you go UP those mountains
Poor power and straining....LOL, uhhh.... nope, I can pass every truck going up the Eisenhower stretch on I-70 ( a 7% grade), even the coal burners with their turbo’s and I still have *plenty* of pedal left doing 75MPH - when I want to. I am soooo happy with my truck, excellent gas mileage when I want it (up to 24MPG), and a high thirteen second scalded ape when it needs to be. . ....Be happy man, it feels better.

For the record, I have been here in Washington State for the last 2 months. The very best freeway mileage I can get now at 65 now is 19MPG. I am at nearly sea level. Thank you Pedro Dog for explaining this, I was a tad perplexed when checking my mileage down here, it is definetly worse. Upside is, feels like its turboed down here, whooo hooo!!!!

And I'm sure you're getting 20 mpg as you pass everything on the highway. With the mods you show, you might have a 15 second scalded chicken, but nowhere near 13 seconds. I am happy buddy, just hate listening to or reading complete BS. So now your truck is a 1/4 mile demon with that CAI alone huh. My 06 with headers CAI and a programmer never neared those times and at 7000 ft, it may help your mileage but it sure aint going to help your 1/4 mile times....Just more BS. I hope you think someone on here believes your stuff....lmao...Be happy

WOW, high 13s with a 5.7 in a truck, not likely without internal mods, or boost and a lot of gear. I was around when high 13s were possible from the showroom and these new trucks aren't that fast.

Who gives a crap? You guys are bound to get this thread locked. Sorry to the OP who has to sift through this junk. None of it is helping him out.

That is the point I am trying to make. We need to do the best we can to give factual information and fact based opinions so those who are asking can make decisions based on good information. If I tell you I can change a tire with a leatherman tool and you go buy one to change your tires with rather than a lug wrench or something similar you really didn't get much help did you? I would much rather have a couple of informative responses than a bunch that you have to sift thru trying to make good decisions. JMO

And we have been doing exactly what you are talking about...sifting through the junk and stating some real world figures. There is a gas mileage thread right now in the 4th gen discussion area and of the hundreds, maybe thousands of responses, I'll bet you 95% or more get 15-18 mpg or less, in the real world, so why is it that you seem to be defending people who are at the very least getting mileage that is not normal and not average. When a new person asks about fuel mileage on the highway or in town, they deserve to some real world figures to help them with their decision, not just some.....Duh...well sometimes I get 25 mpg if I'm driving through the mountains, cause the air is thin. That's great if they are really doing it but not very good everyday information, and probably exaggerated since the mileage wizard also states that he has the fastest stock 4 wheel drive pickup ever built, high 13's....u wish Even you should be able to see that Rom must have a screw loose somewhere to make that claim. I was waiting for him to make this claim, since it goes right along with the out of proportion mileage claims. Sorry if we riled you Mopar Man, but it does not matter where it comes from.....BS is always BS, and needs to be called out
