When a new person asks about fuel mileage on the highway or in town, they deserve to some real world figures to help them with their decision, not just some.....Duh...well sometimes I get 25 mpg if I'm driving through the mountains, cause the air is thin. That's great if they are really doing it but not very good everyday information, and probably exaggerated since the mileage wizard also states that he has the fastest stock 4 wheel drive pickup ever built, high 13's....u wish Even you should be able to see that Rom must have a screw loose somewhere to make that claim. I was waiting for him to make this claim, since it goes right along with the out of proportion mileage claims. Sorry if we riled you Mopar Man, but it does not matter where it comes from.....BS is always BS, and needs to be called out
I will remind you again, that the OP asked for HIGHWAY MILAGE, not around town milage specifically what difference getting a 3:92 would make. I have a CC with the 3:21 and get 20 or more on the highway regularly on short or long trips. On the same thread you mention, I went back and read the posts. I ignored the Canadian posts. There are many many posters that got 20 or more on real trips. Why don't you stop bashing people and post your milage and move on. Who in the world elected you to come on here and call people liars. What truck do you have and what is your highway milage?

Posting about average milage is worthless because folks drive different combinations of town & highway. Some town driving is city, some is country, some is stop and go, etc, etc. Besides, THAT IS NOT WHAT THE OP ASKED ABOUT!!!

I'm not one for locking a thread with a debate going, but I would appreciate anyone who has posted an insult to another member to go back and edit it out, or I will edit it out and lock her down.

If you can't agree, or agree to disagree within 3 pages, you're not going to hash it out in 10 more pages.

Thank you drive thru

Right, So you can expect to get 16-18 MPG average. The 3.92s don't hurt at all unless you're on the interstate cruising over 70MPH. They really add a nice bit of get up and go over the 3.55:1 gears.

Absolutely, concise, to the point and really useable information.

I have had two, both with 5.7 and 3.92 gears. The 06 got 14-16 on the highway and the 14 seems like it will be around 17-19. I say seems because it only has 800 miles at this time, so no definite information yet. Anyone that I offended I apologize, but will not change my way of thinking as far as the info this thread should have contained

Those who have had both, does it seem like the HEMI with the 8 spd is giving better mileage and/or performance?

Pedro, since you seem to be such a stickler as to exactly what the op wanted, why are you even posting here. You don't have 3.92 gears so what you tell the op isn't what he was asking for since you don't have the equipment he is looking at, or the information that he was asking for. It works both ways Pedro. If this offends you...sorry. Yes there are some claiming to get 20 or more mpg on that discussion, but compared to the others getting 14-18 mpg they are few and far between, of course I understand you reading it to match your opinion

The OP wants to know what to expect with a 3.92 on the highway, compared to other gears. He can read and process the information we provide, he doesn't need you to filter it for him.

Pedro, you have chastised anyone on this thread that didn't give what you considered the appropriate answer. The op never asked for a comparison between other gears, he asked about 3.92 gears at highway speeds, which you don't have, and could not possibly give any accurate information about such gears. So yes, he does need people like me to filter inaccurate information from someone who does not have the equipment he asks about or the information he asked about. You need to go back and read his original post again, because he mentions no comparisons between other gears at all, performance wise or mileage wise, just 3.92's period

Here Pedro, I'll do it for you

OP Original Post QUOTE: I am looking at a 2011 Ram 1500 CC 4x4. It has the 5.7 and 3.92 rear gears. It also has the anti slip differential and trailer brake controller. I am trying to get a little information on highway and fuel performance. How does that low of a gearing ride on the highway and is the MPG's really bad because of it?
