Default Dealer can't find fog lights to activate them

So I installed factory fog lights on my 09 Ram. Installed the switch, wired em and mounted them. Went to the dealer to have them turned on and they can't find them. They said some vehicles don't need them activated and others do. This is completely different from what I've read in the forums. Has anyone else had this dilemma? Any advice? Was the tech doing the work just not educated on the procedure? If I wired them wrong could they still show up on the scan to be activated?

Ain't seen the Starscan screens on a 4th Gen but it's right under lighting options for 3rd gens. Some are enabled from the factory even though the truck doesn't have lights, most are not. Regardless the option still shows up on the menu. If they are enabled then the lights will just work when you turn them on...

I'm thinking the tech didnt know what he was doing.... In the instructions it say they need to add the sales code for fog lights into the screen on the starscan.

That's entirely possible, I've never tried to activate fogs, just have seen the option choice on the menu screen...

Thanks! Thats what I tried to tell them Saturday. I'm sitting at the dealer right now waiting for them to do it correctly this time.... Wonder if I'll get a discount for explaining to them how to get it done, probably not.

If they bill you w/o a discount, I'd charge them for educational consultation. I think going rate on that is dealer-rate x 2.

They got them turned on and only charged me 1/2 the original quote. Walked out with a bill of $64. Which is still a bit ridiculous if you ask me!
