1500 Crewcab bed is 5ft 7"
2500 Crewcab bed is either 6ft 4" or 8ft

Tailgate down adds about another 20" to the length.

Overall length of a Katana 600 is 84 inches, and that is total length not where the tire is actually going to sit. The end of the open tailgate on a crewcab 1500 is at 87-88 inches.

So I'd say yes a sport bike would fit, but all you have to do is look at the lenght of what you are trying to haul and answer it for yourself. The sleds I haul are a whole lot longer than that but have the advantage of being able to hang part of the track off the gate.

One more note - if it were my desire to haul bike(s) in the bed I'd get one of those rails that you can temporarily mount so it evens out the weight and gives you a solid capture for the wheels.

Not sure how that works... I would just roll bike in place on kick stand, tie down drivers side, attach ratchet strap to passenger side and tighten until the bike was standing straight up, then attach additional straps to the rear of bike...

Only thing to remember was to undo passenger side first or the bike falls over.

The rails have a wheel grabber in the front that helps keep the bike upright, kind of like a bicycle rack and the rail is around 7ft long. You still tie down to the truck tie downs. You see them mostly on trailers but there is a guy locally that has a couple in the back of a mid sized toyota for his dirt bikes.

get 2 stands and put em on a piece of wood, have the piece of wood sit under both tires. or the easiest way, get a slim piece of steel, long enough to sit under both tires, then have an eye welded on the middle. you strap the bike on the left to your truck on the left, and eye on the right. right bike gets tied of on the eye on the right and your truck on the left. solid hold, the weight of the bikes keeps pressure down so the eye never moves, both bikes act as one.

that track I've seen is more so for dirt bikes. but either way, if your talking all this money, why not just have a trailer for more bikes?

and yea my truck bed is 6'-4" plus tailgate if down, but up its 6'-2".
