I didn't go out there with a flat blade screwdriver and try and pry it off! Jeeze there bud...but I pulled on it hard enough to symbolize if I was pulling something out of my box over my tailgate and by accident grabbed that cover. If it was going to come off by just doing that, I wanted to get it solved. By the sounds of it this guys cover did come off that easy, but now I have just proved that dodge has fixed that problem.

Just a cheap peace of plastic. Buy a new one. Haven't noticed anything wrong with mine as far as the tailgate spoiler goes but I have a tonneau cover that helps hold it in place. Don't let it get you down, just keep on trucking!

But dont YOU have a 2009 sport...??? Isnt THAT the first "new model year" lol lol lol
OOOOP`s, sorry bout that, you`re the one not whining...lol
I believe he said he's a realist and not a dreamer in regards to first year production vehicles and the issues they have. I think it's logical to assume based on that statement that he understands that his 2009 will likely have little bugs and issues because it's a first year production model. I don't believe Ohio was whining by any means. Just stating the obvious.

Hate cheesy looking plastic! Two worst things they can put on a vehicle from the factory are plastic bed rail/tailgate covers and plastic nerfs.

Whatever happened to the good old days when YOU got to choose the mods you wanted and went out and put them on instead of the vehicle manufacturer doing it for you?

If'n it were mine, I'd be ripping that crap off and covering it with diamond plate...

Go to deezee.com and get a real tailgate cap. This is what these trucks should come with straight out of the factory with not that crapy plastic. Good strong diamond plate.

My caps are Dee Zee, I was actually out tool box shopping when I walked into a Tractor Supply who was having an inventory clearance and the caps as well as window vent visors were all 50% off. My old Toolbox off my 2nd Gen was black and was originally on this truck, but I was going for a Chrome/Stainless/Diamond Plate theme.

I ended up walking out with the caps and the vent visors. The tool box I bought about a week later at Agri Supply. The UWS was a better price and the setup worked out better for me than the Dee Zee box.

BTW, here's a tip for y'all. You wanna keep that stainless, chrome and diamond plate looking new? FLITZ! That box and those caps were over five years old when I took that pic. Every day spent in either Georgia or Florida in the hot sun. I hit 'em with Flitz about four times a year and they still shine like they did on day one...
