And no pnp kit will look like this;

Cmerrit, you can't use these pictures as pure justification....that 2nd pic is "MY truck" those are are PROJECTED HEADLIGHTS w/ a PNP Fog Light. I DO NOT use my fog lights for anything but when driving around the backroads when no one else is around! So yes those look like the glare a lot of light which they do. If someone else shows up on the road I turn them off like any other human with common sense. I took them awhile back and used it as a reference for the OP to see.

Plus in the first pic (the retrofit) if you get as low as I did in my pic same angle and all it'd look the same as mine if I shut my fog lights off....Two different angles of two different setups isn't proving anything. .

The bulb cover would have little effect on glare. The main problem with putting HIDs in reflector housings is the light source itself is much larger. The reflectors are designed to focus on one small point, specifically, the filament of the halogen bulb. HIDs work differently, they charge the gas inside the lamp, and the entire lamp lights up. So the larger light source causes new, unintended reflections, in the form of glare. Projectors have smaller, perfectly parabolic reflectors attached to them, and are designed to properly focus light from HID lamps, when used with the projector optics. Nearly all OEM reflector housings aren't designed to be used with HID systems, and the ones that are use special HID systems designed for reflectors.

I have to agree with Mikey. You can't use those 2 pics for comparison. They're not only take from different distances, but different angles as well

Ok, got everything delivered today. Won't be able to install until Sunday though. Does anyone have pics of the harness install, such as where to ground, where to mount the relay and ballasts?

The fog lights should be plug and play you shouldnt need a relay, at least I didn't. As for the low beams I put my relay by the fuse box close to the battery. I would recommend grounding to the frame. I couldn't get my lowbeams working right without a capacitor plugged in from the relay to the ballast.

I drew power from here...

you can see I mounted the ballast here using zipties (stronger than double sided tape over time)...this is right along the frame behind the headlight, you can do this on both driver and pass side.

Look closely in this pic and you can see where I mounted my relay its towards the top of the picture (you can see the red wire off the relay). But I drilled out the hole a little bit and mounted it to where the washer fluid reservoir mounts if you look at your truck you'll see what i'm talking about. Good luck bud!
