Front had synthetic in it from the factory and requires it, good idea to use it in the rear especially if towing or have posi...don't forget the additive in the rear if it is posi.

I think it is the best method to use RTV because I have never had anyluck with differential gaskets unless of course they have some new reusable ones like some valvecover gaskets I bought for a 350 chevy.i
