Apple doesn't work nice with most vehicles. The Uconnect system tested and validated Apple products as well as many others when the Uconnect SW was wrote for the 2011 vehicles. Since the writing of the SW and the time that the vehicles started to be built, Apple and others updated SW without validating it to see if there were issues. There can be several months after the release of the vehicles to the public before Chrysler really knows about any issues and then may take a few more months before the suppliers that build the Uconnect modules find out about the issues.
All these phone mfgs keep their stuff secret so how would it be known what they are doing in 3, 6, or 12 months. Really the only thing that Uconnect (and others) can do is wait and see then adapt to it which they have done. Granted that the dealers and customer care hasn't been very helpful.

I don't want to start anything here! Haha, but dodge and apple just don't seem to go together if you keep updating your iphone and ipods.

yes, you are quite right. Sometimes questions are asked from lack of rest and being lazy. Not to mention that I am on 7 different forums trying to help those that can't get he proper assistance from Customer care of the dealers.
Anyway, on the 2009 & 2010 vehicles that have the red rectangle connector that they plug a short cord into need the short cord with the white connector for the iPod. This will be needed with most current Apple products.
I think that originally, iPods charged using the "firewire" connections which are part of the Dock Connector. I believe the voltage used was 12 volts. Later iPods were charged using the USB 5 volt connections, which are also part of the Dock Connector, but I think those iPods could also be charged by either the USB or the firewire connections.

LG rumor eh? thats an older phone right? It could be your radio...could be the phone to if its as old as I think...unsupported. Do you have a way to try a newer phone? Like the Galazy S?
Captain
This is the new iPod touch that just came out right?
On the Rumor, what is the SW version on it and what are the issues that you're having with it?

the rumor 2 from LG is only 3 or 4 years old. it will simply not connect with the phone. I go to the radio promp once in a will it will find it I put the code I have and then nothing it will simply not synk with the radio...
Captain
I have seen a similar issue on a different LG phone before. Can you try something for me? I would like you to delete the pairing completely. Remove the Uconnect from you devices on the phone and also delete pairing of the phone to Uconnect. Start a new pairing session, only this time when the "Request to download your phonebook" pops up, don't accept it. This pop up will appear a few more times, you can either ignore it or decline it. After a few attempts, it will just go away. It keeps asking to make sure that you don't want to DL it.
Now does the phone connect? If so then the issue is with the way the pb is being sent to Uconnect.
Let me know if this is helpful and we'll go from there.
