Under Hood light (work light)?
D
Good job dirtydog that's sick. At first I planned to change the bulb with an led but this is even better. Man I hate this Site. Another thing on my to do list.
I used a pressure sensitive hood pin switch so the hood triggers it when opened. yikes, say that 5x's fast..lol

lol.. the ever growing Mod list. i barely drive my truck and continue to mod it. It's.....addicting and i just cant help myself..haha
I have every option on my ride... it does have the courtesy light package, lighed in glove box... but no underhood lamp, someone was on a smoke break on the assembly line when my truck got to their station...
I just installed twin underhood lamps, helps out if I ever need to check under the hood in the dark.

So, even thouh I have a glove box light, all four doors have courtesy lamps this under hood lamp was an additional option? Damn bean counters, it should have been just an included option with the Laramie option.

2003 was the first year items like his were a option. Cig lighter went away then also. I bought a $39,000 truck back then and was like WTF when I realized the number of items that cost more money. Underhood shield was also gone.
My SLT doesn't have it either but to be honest, I don't really miss it that much. I had one on my last truck and it was pretty weak and useless. The light was just enough to see the top of the engine and all of that stuff but you really can't see anything in detail. I found that if I needed to see under the hood in an emergency, I still needed a flashlight. I carry 2 flashlights in my truck at all times for emergencies, a small LED that works great for most needs and a 9 volt LED camping style lantern for really lighting up the engine bay.
