Default Cargo Lights Tap?!?

Okay simple wiring question here...

I have LED Bed Lights under the bed rails in my truck..had them in there for quite sometime and have had them ran straight to the battery (yes I have an inline fuse for the time being). But I'd like to wire them into the cargo lights so when I unlock the truck they come on and then have the ability to use the switch I mounted by my power seat controls. I tried looking at the Mopar install instructions, but when I get to Step 27 where are those connectors? I was going to use a t-tap and just tap into it...

anyone w/ any input on which wire would be the best to tap into for this?

Mopars install guide is here on there site.

Did you do step 26? By looking at the instructions, it looks like the side cover should reveal the location of the connectors since the wiring goes to the switch. If you took the cover off (step 26) and the connectors aren't there, try pulling on the wires as they may be tucked in. The wires are the Black/Brown (pin 11) tied to the black wire from the lights. The other wire is the yellow wire (pin 13) conected to the white wire from the lights.

I've pulled that panel off before but couldn't find any wiring pins that matched that. I had two plugs in there and the colors did not match up for some reason. Why does it show in 25 to remove the panel along the windshield w/ a wire running up?

Looks like the connectors are under the A pillar trim piece (25), by the pictures the connectors are right above the dash.

So you found the connectors and they don't match the drawing on step 28? The only thing I can think of is going by the pin numbers on the male connector CAV11 and pulling pin 11 and reconnecting the connector and seeing if this disables the light. Maybe tomorrow I'll pull up the wiring diagrams from the service manual and see if I can make sense of it.

Seems pretty complicated,

I have mine hooked up to the cargo light, but i found that brown wire running through the rear seat (driver's side) floor, just under that plastic molding where you would step on to climb in the truck (right under the speaker if the door is closed sort of speak) If you pop that off you should see a harness of wires running through there and the brown one i think is for the cargo light, that's where i tapped mine from, them from there i ran the wire under the carpet right to the cargo (under the rear seat) and if you look under your truck theres an existing hole with a plastic cap, i drilled a hole just so i could run the wire through it and under the truck to the back box. If you want i can post pictures to help you out a lil.

Might be a lil less complicated than mopar's picture instructions.

Step 24: Snake cable in from the engine compartment into the footwell.
Step 25: Pull off the inside cover from the drivers a pillar to reveal wire loom.
Step 26: Pull off the side cover from the dash. Snake cable up to driver side a pillar. (You may see two connectors behind the panel removed in this step. They are for the trailer brake controller, do not use them in steps 27-36)
Step 27: Unhook the connectors on the wire loom revealed in step 25 (NOT THE ONES IN 26).

Tap the newly installed black wire into the black and brown cable in the above loom.
Tap the newly installed yellow wire into the yellow cable in the above loom.

Pretty simple from there.

When I wired up my truck bed LEDs I read through the Mopar instructions and then decided there were too many hoops to jump through. I took the lazy way out. I tapped in the cargo light above the back window, ran the wire around the back window (under the weatherstripping), down the back of the cab and then up into the side of the box. Yeah, you can see about 3" of wire at the bottom left corner of the rear window, but the wire is black and it is all but unnoticeable. The only real challenge in this method is the time it takes to carefully slip the wire under the window weatherstripping. But it works perfectly to have the bed LEDs come on when you unlock the truck with the FOB or when you turn on the cargo light from the inside switch.

Does anyone know where I can find some LEDs for a Rambox setup? I was thinking they could go below the Cargo Management System rails but they would need to be relatively small.
