Is it worth it to me...? Thats a big NOPE for me.
Does the warning light & chime bother me...not for what it would cost me to eliminate it.
Dealership wants $50 bucks to reprogram mine to work, big waste of time an money as far as i`m concerned because its just about springtime and i`ll be putting my 20" wheels back on for the summer, then my TPMS will work just fine with my original wheels. I only use these 17" wheels for my snowtires for a few months out of the year, its not like i REALLy need to worry about looking at the EVIC to tell me i have a tire low on air anyway.
I check my tire pressure once a week because the temperature`s here vary so much. It dosent take but a minute to run around the truck to check them with a gauge... kinda like we use to do before we had all this fancy stuff.

So here`s how i see it:
Winter tire useage 3 months (4 months if we have a really bad winter)
Each Reprogram Fee $50 ($100 bucks a year switching back an forth from 17" to 20")
Alot of gas lost for a useless trip (100 miles to dealer both ways)
Lost wages - Have to take a day off from work to go to the dealer.
Less than a month, original wheels getting put back on the truck.

I understand that, I was just stating that's probably why they didn't work. The original replies made it sound like they wouldn't work if you swapped rims, which isn't true.

It wouldn't be worth it to me to have them reprogrammed twice a year either, unless you have access to the tool needed to do it yourself, which I do.

I find myself in a similar situation... I just purchased a set of 4 tires on the rims from a 2011 Ram 1500. I put them on my 2009 Ram 1500 and all was fine for about 3 days. Today my TPMS light flashed on and dinged a few times then stayed lit. I immediately stopped and checked the tires and they are all at 35 psi, the same as when I installed them. A local tire store scanned each tire and said the TPMS are all working and transmitting at 315 MHz. Based on what I have read here I am assuming my truck is looking for a 433 MHz signal.

So, I have been to 3 Dodge dealers and have been given 3 different answers. (Imagine that) One quoted $375 to diagnose and fix the problem. One said $90 to re-learn the WIN, and the 3rd said it cant be done.

After explaining to the 3rd what I had read online. He did see in his service computer where the WIN may be able to be "Flash" updated. He said he wont know for sure until he hooks it up and sees if the computer has that option to change the MHz frequency.

Does anyone know if the flash update is what I need to have done to recognize the TPMS? Any tech's out there with any more hints I can give the service dept? He offered to hook it up for free and only charge me 30 min labor if it is available. ($45)

Thanks. MJ
