Default Radio Gremlin

So my 2010 started doing something strange with the radio the other day. I Listen to only a few stations and the main one keeps jumping up a few freqs constantly. It will be on 96.3 and jump to 96.5.

Anyone have this happen or know what would cause it?

Mine has done this too. I listen to 105.7 here and it changed to 105.5 by itself a few times.

Which radio do you have?

I originally had an RES radio in my truck that one time played an AM and FM radio station at the same time. It had been raining for several days and the truck was damp from sitting. Not sure if that was my problem because it never happened again.

It could be some stray electronic noise on the power side of the radio causing some strange things to happen, usually caused by a poor ground somewhere.

I have worked on electro-mechanical equipment where strange (frequencies) noise has come in on the power line and caused the equipment to do strange things

Make sure the ground on your radio is tight, clean and secure that may help.

Marine,

If this continues to happen and you are still under warranty I would suggest having the dealer check it out and see if a software update is available for your radio.

If you post the sales code on your radio I can check for any service bulletins on the issue.

What's the sales code? It is still under warranty. I called the dealer and they were supposed to get back to me, but haven't yet. The radio is the basic one with uconnect and sirrius.

Marine,

On the bottom right hand corner of the faceplate of the radio there should be a 3 character code. That is the sales code I need to look up your issue.

Sorry for the late response. The dealer got back with me and they are ordering a new radio for the truck. I guess they found an issue.

Marine,

Good, hopefully that will solve the issue.
