Bad Powertrain Control Module?
A while back my truck starting having issues starting.. It was like there was a delay when i turned the ignition. Or sometimes it would start to crank but then stop and i would have to try it again. Sometimes it would start to crank then stop and when i let off the ignition it would start up.. ?? While driving through wal-mart parking lot it just shut completely off (just the engine) while i was still driving! I rolled to a stop, put it in park and tried to start it.... nothing.. did this about 4 or 5 times then finally started right up. I still had power to everything the whole time. I was like my key was only in the acc position. So, i took it to the dealer and they replaced the "MODULE: POWERTRAIN CONTRORL150" whatever that is... When i picked my truck up they told me that because i have HID headlights that they "may be the reason" the module went bad and if it happens again and i still have HID lights that it's going to void my warranty.. wtf? Well, It's acting up again. Mileage the first time i took it in was 26837 (May 1st) and now i'm sitting just under 28000... My 3 year warranty expired June 1st. Luckly i bought a 7 year warranty when i bought the truck. Anyone had any issues like this or heard about any?
On top of that my turn signal under my mirror blew off going down the highway and they want $112 for that damn thing.!

Personally, I'd find a different dealership. That's the first time I've ever heard of HID's being the cause of a ignition malfunction (roll eyes).
If nothing else reinstall your stock bulbs and return to the dealership. There's no memory within any module that can keep data as to when bulbs were replaced.
As far as the directional falling out, that's weird, most of the time I see threads with regards to not being able to swap out the directional LED's, and proper disassembly of exterior mirror. Most of the time dealerships are replacing the entire mirror.

What kind of HID's are you running? How do you have them wired up? Best bet would be to pull the negative cable off the battery and let it sit for 10-15 minutes and try it again. If no luck with that just unplug your HID's throw in your halogens again for a little bit and see if that changes anything.
Whether or not it's the HID's the dealer can throw that right at you and say it's causing the issue due to running something aftermarket. Since the HID's are electrical and aftermarket it's easier for them to point at that. Give those options I told you a shot and see what happens. Let us know...

Sitting at the bank today it did it again.. this time it took about 4 tries to get it started. it just clicks like the battery is low and after a few tries it fired right up.. I'm in Kentucky now but will be around Indianapolis in a couple days. I'll take it to a dealer up there and see what they say. hopefully my additional warranty covers whatever it is.. I got the HIDs from HID Extra. Found them from posts on here actually. I have had them for a couple years and they are just a plug-in install so i don't see them being the cause..
You mess with anything electrical in today's cars your going to throw codes left and right and it can throw anything out of wack... To be honest I look ed at HID Extra and after my reading I wasn't pleased with there products. Some people here have used them with zero issues...people over on the DT forum have had issues with electrical components due to HIDs.
Best bet is to pull them and try that.. Reset the computer by pulling negative cable for ten minutes.

ok, I have the stock headlights. I'll stick them in there and see what happens. I installed them back in Dec 09.. What about the Predator tuner? I have it programmed in my truck also. You think that could have anything to do with it? But, it also has been on my truck since about the same time..
Well to be honest.. The dealer you went to is one of the few decent ones. Most dealers will void your warranty the minute the star scan reads you have a tuner hooked up to the truck. When my MFS went out on my truck I thought they'd say something but the dealer I went to was really great!

Oh I didn't have the tuner installed when i took it to the dealer. I carry the tuner in the truck just in case i ever have to remove the tune.. one other thing i forgot to mention. I used the remote start the other day and when i got in and turned my key on, the truck shut off.. it's like the igition is messed up or something..??
Even though you reset the tune back to stock tune the star scan can still read if the truck has been tuned with a programmer. I do the same thing.. I keep my tuner in the truck so I can re flash it back to stock if need be.
Really? Everything I have heard or read says they wont be able to tell its' been programmed as long as the stock tune is loaded when you take it in.. I have had it in many times, every time i have it serviced, and they have never said anything.
