"ECO" vs. "ECO-ON" ...I'm confused

i have a 2012 ram also with a hemi and mine goes eco on at highway speed but only on prfect level surface and no wind so it flips on and off while driving around town it eco on often when applying light throttle

Based on my experience, the ECO on the EVIC display does indicate its in MDS mode. You can feel the fluttery lack of power while its displayed in my opinion.
Also, you can turn this indicator off in the settings FYI.

I don't have a EVIC, just the basic display. But I will also agree that when it says ECO ON that it is running in MDS as you can feel a difference.
