Default A few basic questions

Hey everyone, Im new here and to dodge rams. Just bought a 2010 1500 trx4 5.7L and I love it!

I have just a few basic questions, sorry if they are really stupid.
How do I tell what my gear is? 3.92 is what I think but is there anyway to tell? Also, I've read that slapping a new exhaust in wont void warranty but does the magnusson act protect canadian owners too? and if so what are your guys favorite exhaust for a 2010 1500 V8? and CAI too.. I plan on chipping in the future, what tuners or programmers do you like for this model? My truck is stock because Ive only owned it for 3 days now.

The Magnuson Act? I assume you mean the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act? Either way, no.

Most will tell you to avoid the cold air intake, just get a good drop in filter.

Superchips is the preferred tuner I believe, nothing available for me yet.

Exhaust, you can go Magnaflow, Borla, etc. careful of the size it can impact the drone from the MDS, but with a tuner you can turn that off.

That's what you have to watch for warranty, when you go for service always put the stock tune back.

There is a tag on the rear axle that tells you what your gear ratio is, as for muffler i have a magnaflow it works and love it. Tuner go for the superchips it works good and you can tune the trans also.

I have a TRX4 and I am pretty sure it comes standard w/ the limited slip 3.92, and I drove a 2009 5.7 w/ aftermarket exhaust, it sounded good when the MDS was not on but when the MDS was on it sounded horrible.

How much of a hit does shutting the MDS off do to MPG?

I meant when running on 4 cyl. when in the MDS mode the exhaust sounded terrible, just like the droan everybody talks about. It sounded good when in 8 cyl.

Ok gotcha, I've been looking around at exhausts and I dont have the slightest idea haha. I prefer something that didn't sound like **** with mds on lol. Seems like a pain in the *** having to shut it off everytime just to enjoy the $$$ exhaust.

Most 3rd gens reported an overall mpg increase with MDS off, go figure?
