Default Seat Belt Chime Help 4th Gen

Ive tried shutting off the chime using the steps listed here and it never seems to work. Is this correct?

Seat belt buckled
Key in on position...wait until warning light turns off
Unbuckle and rebuckle 3 times in 10 sec.
Key off...hear chime

This never works in my 2012 1500

That sequence is described in the 2011 owner's manual, but in the 2012 owner's manual, it just says see you dealer.

Word around the street is in the 2012s they have disabled that function. I have my 2011 disabled that way, but things could be different in 2012. However my manual does not describe how to disable it either, just says see dealer too.

Are you leaving your seatbelt plugged in when you turn the key off?

Since that process seems to work for some and not others I am amending this post to state that it may not work on all 2012's. Sorry for the confusion.

You can take the buckle apart and either jumper the two leads if it's a Normally open position switch, or cut them if it's normally closed. Works for every buckle for every car ever made. Any I've seen are notrmally open and need to be jumpered. It's the most simplistic design ever. I doubt the ram is any different.
All it is, is a simple switch that causes the two leads to contact one another, or break apart depending on the style.
You can grab the wires on the bottom end that plugs underneath the seat as well. Will do the same thing and is easier that taking buckle apart.

A paperclip works in the plastic connector where the wires connect under the seat
