I tried the Sirius transfer thing after I switched to an REN,and they said the only way was if I could get the dealer to say it needed replaced. Tried that and it was just easier to get a new subscription.

Quote: All good questions and concerns, I did spend some time at my dealer's parts counter, he seems pretty good, he did some research, and said, I should be able to do it, but, certainly, do need the GPS antenna, and,

Another thing I just thought of, is, my truck came with a year's subscription to SIRIUS, and, I wonder if I will be able to switch that from my 130 RES to my new 430N RHB ?

Anybody ever run into this situation ? Thanks,

They will only switch it if the radio is replaced due to failure.

Some of the 2012 radios have a security code in them that has to be input to use the radio. If you look at the lower left side of the radio bezel, and it says about MP3 DVD, then you don't have one. If it says something about security, then you do. Actually even the older non security radios have a code, but they are all the same and 1111 or 1234 works on them.

That would be the issue with mine! I never thought about the security part. I do have the factory security, so that would most likely have been the reason why they had to order from the factory. Or no?

Sirius should do it! I just called them yesterday to get on "haulted" I have my parents van on my account (their 1 year subscription ended so I added them on mine, it was cheaper) They just traded up, so I asked sirius if they could swap that ID from the dealers name, into mine. Then set it up so that when the 1 year ends it swaps back over to the other subscription. That way I am not paying cancellation fees. No problem, they have it all set up with the new subscription. Basically I think all they did was give me 1 year credit on that radio...

I am certainly going to call SIRIUS and give it a try, waiting for my 430N to show up now, bought it off of Flea Bay, and, if they say that free subscription only works with the 130 that I have now, then, if I sold it to somebody, would they then get the balance of that free one year? I guess I'll be finding here before long!

Yes because the subscription is tied to the Sirius ID, which of course is bound in each radio.

Success !
Got my new (semi-new) 430N from Flea Bay, a new take out, and, just took out my 130 RES and popped the 430N RHB in and everything is working! SIRIUS is working, the GPS is working, (haven't tried the other), I just unplugged the big connector, small connector, the yellow and white, plugged into new one, and, was listening to Music, 80s rock ! and brought up the GPS, took 15 minutes, Thanks to everybody here who gave me info !
