Exclamation Power Steering pump gone? Edmonton Help

I've got an 09 1500 Laramie CC.

I've got a whirring/grinding sound coming from my steering wheel area(side my PSreservoir is). As the RPMs rise, so does my oil pressure(from 178kpa up to 380kpa depending on the RPM range) As I drive the reservoir seems to be emptying itself. I hope it's not mixing with my engine somewhere.

What's the cost of the repair if the pumps gone or there's a leak? I'm currently in Edmonton, Alberta Canada.

Chris,

It's hard to provide an exact price as they do vary from dealer to dealer. Also not knowing exactly what the problem is or what caused it. Do you know if there is currently any warranty remaining on your vehicle?

If you'd like to PM me your VIN# or have any other inquiries I'd be happy to help you.

Are you sure you have enough fluid in the pump? Check the level with the engine off. Low fluid in the PS pump can cause the sound and situation you describe. Also check the lines for leaks.

You can call around for estimates or get estimates when you drive into a shop, but that's all it would be is an estimate.

Got a dealers estimate...$1900 for replacing the steering rack. Money I don't have right now. There's a major leak coming from the passenger side now. No warranty left so FML!
