It has gotten to the point that every few times I drive my truck I go under and give the drive shaft a wiggle now to see if it is getting loose....With snow on the ground it is no fun....

24k miles/24 months. I'm at 42000.

But the dealer called and the truck needs a complete housing. Too much clearance between the pinion bearing race and the case.

Well now didn't you already ascertain this when you first started having this issue?

I`m with ya Cmerritt, but dont blame the truck, blame the idiots working on it, its obvious that these "so called MECHANICS" are so retarded today. They couldnt pour pizz out of a boot even if the instructions were written on the fuggin heel. My rear diff howels horrible, when it finally blows, i`ll rebuild it myself. Then it will be rebuilt the correct way... not by some dealership retard flunky fresh out of jr highschool with a brand new tool box full of tools and dosent know how to use them. Maybe i should start a new job, going around to all the dealerships and train these dumb monkey`s how to set-up a differential properly...!

The problem with all these rear diff`s going bad, is the manufactuer, they`re NOT being set-up properly. (idots building them @ ZF, and no dealerships knowing how to set-up a differential) I`m going to guess, chrysler is still going to have these rearend problems in the 2013 trucks because they are STILL using ZF manufacturing to fill the vending side of it for them. You get what you pay for.... ZF products suck...! Why do you think ford quit using them.
