They're working on it, guess I will just have to be patient, In the meantime I will rent a truck when I need material.
Thanks for the input.

I dream of the day I can own a v6 full size truck, with a diesel. Until then my 2012 hemi will have to do. 300 or so hp 400 tq. down low. Mated to the new 8 speed without a 6000.00 upcharge as long as I am dreaming. Sorry for the drift. I was really tempted to wait for a 2013 with the 8 sp and hemi but my previous truck had other ideas.

I am also going to defend the new V6. While it is also not for me, it will do just fine. We are on this site because most of us like to tinker, we like power. So naturally most here will bash it, but we are just a fraction of a tenth of a percent of owners. Fact is the numbers put it where the 4.7 was up until 06/07. That engine was fine, as will this one be. I would go as far to say..... Ram can save a little $$ and ditch the 4.7 option. I guess I would need to know how many other vehicles that use the 4.7 in to make that call.
Maybe the following...
New V6 is the base
Same V6 with optional Forced Induction for a middle of the road but same 25 MPG highway.
Hemi

Chrysler will only use the 4.7 in their work trucks (Tradesman). I pulled the trigger on my 2012 because I wanted a 4.7 Outdoorsman which has significant torque advantage over the new V6 but I didn't need the performance of the Hemi.

I should also add that I travel a lot and get a rental almost every week. My vehicle of choice is the Charger with the V6 and 8-speed transmission. The 8sp does provide a significant improvement in gas mileage. However, when you are in 8th and you have to floor it to merge into a slot so you can exit the highway, by the time the tranny gets into a gear low enough that you can do something about it, the opportunity can no longer be there. Thus, I've had to learn to manually down-shift into LOW with the shift lever in the counsole if I see a situations where I need quick acceleration like to get out of somebody's way. In the on-line information on the 2013 RAM, I did not see a shift lever where this can be accomplished nor is there a LOW option on the rotary know that selects the transmission's mode. I only see P R N D.

I like power too, but just dont need it in this truck, V6 will do just fine hauling drywall and two by fours from home depot, city driving.
I have Hemi for speed

The 13 Rams with the 8 speed have buttons on the steering wheel for changing gears manually. Below is from the Ram website.
Shifting gears at the speed of ingenuity.
Dashboard-mounted, and now with all-electronic
operation to match the TorqueFlite 8 electronic interface,
and replacing the previous lever shifters for at-yourfingertips
ease. Transfer case operation (when equipped)
is conveniently placed beneath the new Rotary Shifter;
it too is fully electronic. Transmission gear changes
(the up- and downshifting essential for towing and
hauling, as well as rocking in deep snow) are easier than ever. For a more refined
operation, new Ram 1500 models equipped with the TorqueFlite 8 now use
steering wheel-mounted buttons for manual gear range selection — offering more
control when towing and hauling heavy loads.
I also forsee the Pentastar, with turbo, for going head to head with the ecoboost, along with more serious downtuning when not in turbo mode, for even more increased fuel economy at highway speeds....... maybe a 3 cylinder MDS, and 30MPG?
