5 are plenty. Have been for ever. 6 lugs on a 1/2 ton truck is a waste of money and steel.

I can run slicks and nitrous oxide on my 88 Mustang and never had an issue. It only has 4 lugs!!

Gm has had 6 lugs for a long time (they also use IFS on their heavy duty trucks) genius!!

Ford went to 6 lugs in 2004 when their trucks got extra heavy.

The Nissan Titan is also 6 lug and it is a gutless truck. We have one at work.

Yes, but before they were called the F150 HD, they tried to sell them as a light duty F250 - which caused all sorts of confusion when people thought they were buying a real 3/4 ton.
