Any ideas for improving gas milage on 2012 4.7L
I have a 2012 ram box edition, with a 4.7L and looking for ways to improve my gas milage, I switched my oil over to synthetics and honestly have gained almost a whole MPG since doing so. I have heard of GF Chips but hear they are a farse, but hoping to get some other ideas from you proffesionals out there, I am currently at 16.8 MPG it flexs a lil bit either way depending on driving habbits.

That's what I was thinking! I used to own a 4.7 '05 Ram and that was when the motor was tuned to 235 hp, and a 3.73 rearend, and averaged less then 16 mpg's, 50% highway driving.
My 4th generation Ram Hemi pulls around 15/16 average, my '07 Ram Hemi (pre-eagle) averaged 17/18 mpg's. This is primary why I opted for a Hemi, vs. a 4.7. Nothing wrong with a 4.7, but the mileage is consistent with a Hemi.
The only significant difference I ever noticed on my '05 4.7 was when I added the SRT10 hood and purchased the functional Ram-Air-Hood intake. Not only did it sound AWESOME, it raised my "overall" mpg's by 1.7 mpg's. Wish they had a functional hood like that today with the 4th generation hoods, othet then the sport (chally looking) hood.

Robyeo,
Is your vehicle equipped with the Eco/Eco-On (Fuel Saver Indicator)? This indicator will illuminate when you are driving in a fuel efficient manner and can be used to modify driving habits in order to increase fuel economy. The ECO display will toggle between ECO and ECO-ON depending on driving habits and vehicle usage. Press the Odometer/Trip Odometer/ECO (Fuel Saver Indicator button to change the display from odometer to either of the 2 trip odometer settings or the "ECO" display. This information can be found on page 253 of the Owner's Manual.

Quality synthetic oil in the diff. Air psi. CLEAN air filter and NOT a K&N etc.Might try a set of 'fine wire Iridium spark plugs'. It will be no massive gain but there is my 2.02 worth. http://www.ramaircraft.com/Maintenan...vs-Massive.htm

These kind of posts popup every spring, no different than every fall new owners panic due to MPG loss of their new trucks. Most of your MPG gain is not a direct result of your syn oil. Syn oil will not give you 1 MPG more. If it did the manufacturer would put it in from the factory and raise their MPG ratings.
Most, if not all, of your MPG increase is a result of warmer weather and summer gas blends. This 1 MPG will disappear next fall/winter with that same syn in your crank case.
Afer years of looking for better MPG I am of the opinion no matter what you do the affect on your wallet is a wash. The $$ you put into any technology to squeeze a couple tenths more out of a gallon will be equal to (and sometimes more) than the cost to pump the gas into your tank. I have heard good things about hydrogen, but I am not sold on that yet.
If MPG's are a worry for anyone and they need a truck they need to get the new V6 with the 8 speed, that is the best bang for your buck. Or, even better, buy a 3K POS truck if you need to haul stuff, then buy a car to drive. Even that though will still be a wash with the costs involvoed in owning two vehicles.
Bottom line, bend over and take it. The issue really lies with the oil companies who make BILLIONS every QUARTER.
