Thanks for all the comments. Saberworks, I really appreciate hearing the news of confidence. Got to the dealer as they opened Monday am. They said there was a label on the catalytic converters that they thought created the smell. Heat was a shoulder shrug. Still smelled slightly, but heat was gone! I'm thinking the label may have been burning and created the extra heat as it is outside the cooling system. They showed me how to find the transmission temp and it stayed mid-way during the trial run. They still just shrugged their shoulders about the car being a brick when the key is turned on. Three times in a month. Car starts on the 4th or 5th turn. I think I need a better dealer service bay.

If you have to take the vehicle back in it may be a good idea to try a different dealership for service if you have another one in your vicinity as they do not seemed to be to interested in getting to the root of the issues you have experienced.
