LU229,
Correct, it is texting while driving (by inexperience texters like me). I don't know how many (4-6) entries it takes just to play a different or song on the very album you are listening to. Pure stupidity from Chrysler. And touch screens don't like too much or too little touching, you have to glance over just to see if it took. This makes many seconds of not looking where you are driving.

Default Help 2 months out of warranty eletcronics went crazy

Help 2 months out of warranty electronics went crazy. Windshield wiper came on all lights came on. Windows will not roll up.

Truck dies and key will not come out of ignition. Temporarily disconnecting battery ground will release key.

Battery checks good. Jumper cables do not help. When turning key to run, analog Gages move a little from peg to zero. No lights. No radio. Complete darkness. I am thinking of a fusible link.

I wish I had a service manual. I wonder if a flatbed is needed rather than a tow truck.

I really need help from anyone that experienced the same event. Or a RAM mechanics input would be really appreciated.

If you lose battery feed, the key WILL get stuck in the WIN module. Go through the fuses for starters. WIN module may have even taken a dump, possibly the TIPM itself.

Thanks very much for answering and helping.
Additional info. My son was driving when he got a message about the transmission saying something like, do not shut vehicle off. Don't shift.
etc. giving him time to stop at a safe location.

All lights flashed, windows inoperable. Wipers went nuts.

I do have an ODBII scan tool (BlueDriver) and I hope to get module error codes.

It is just possible that clearing error codes may make the vehicle start.

I will have the error code e-mailed to me before I clear them.

Not sure if this is a good idea if I am having the vehicle towed to the dealer. maybe error codes will tell me which fuse might be bad. Checked a bunch of fuses already.
The whole episode sound like a theft lockout. Tried both key FOBs.

As soon as they hook up to it, they should see if a module is offline. The parts price is what kills you at the dealer. Labor can be negotiated.

TNtech,

There is no 12 volts to pin 16 of ODB2 port.
What is the fuse called and where is it? I hope you can help me find it.

Thanks

HKS

Hooking up the BlueDriver scan tool never showed any blinking lights like in my other car.

Default 2013 Ram going to Baxrter in Lincoln NE

Transmission locked in park, windows half way up. Battery good, no start, no instrument lights.
I wonder if the recall for fixing the Virus vulnerability is working. My son plays music over USB from his I-Phone.
It is outside dealers maintenance yard. I wonder how they are going to get it inside for repairs. It is strange that he got a message to not take the transmission out of drive.

The truck has 23,000 miles and is about 70 days out of the 36K warranty. Power train warranty is still good.

I have purchased 5 Chrysler products since 2005. A 2005 Chrysler 300C, a 2010 Ram HEMI pickup (lots of rear end problems). In 2013 I got another 1500 RAM Big Horn HEMI and 8 speed transmission. Also purchased a 2014 Patriot Jeep.

I am hoping maybe FIAT Chrysler will honor the warranty for a little longer than 36 months on a low mileage RAM.
See attached picture of tow truck hauling it off for all to see.

Thank you Kori and Chrysler Fiat.
I had the best experience ever with the dealer (Baxter Lincoln, NE) and Chrysler Fiat.

I definitely will give Chrysler another chance to sell me my next car or truck.
Considering Diesel vehicles again.

Problem was traced to a partially disconnected (white color) connector at firewall near EM brake. A simple solution, but labor intensive (3 hours+) to trace and locate. Easy if it ever happens again.
