HEMI cold temp ticking exhaust - fixed
FWIW, if you look at his pictures - it appears that the stud broke because the nut got tightened against the end of the thread - was not threaded far enough into the block or they need a washer under the nut. The stud is broke right where the threads end and they are all inside the nut.
from what you guys are saying, it sounds like the manifold bolts are a recall item and should be covered under warranty.
just left my dealer today to make an appointment to bring the truck in on thursday to have the bolts changed and yhe service manager said it would cost me $550.00. told him to check because this is part of the drivetrain which should be covered. he said he would let me know when i dropped the truck off.
am i getting screwed?

Mikey,
Recalls are VIN specific, so if you would like me to confirm if there are any outstanding recalls on your vehicle, feel free to PM your VIN#. I can also double check your warranty coverage on the vehicle. However, I can not guarantee coverage until it has been diagnosed and determined defective by a Dodge dealer.
Just to let everyone know and to thank all of those who responded with a helpful comment, the dealer agreed to change/remove the broken bolts. One of the mechanics recognized the tapping noise immediately. They couldn't get two out so had to do some major engine work to get to them with an easy out. It wasn't so easy.
