Default engine tick, visited dealership

So i wrote a thread a while back about my engine ticking. alot of people are reporting the same problem on this forum and other ram forums. Today I took a minute to stop in the stealership, and talked to the service person. First and foremost, the guy was a wise *** the entire time. "thats why I drive a ford", "millions of trucks, someones bound to have a problem" "the only people on forums are the ones pissed off". Sorry I beg to differ, were all on here because we share the same problem that has not been recalled. I do not want to take it to that dealership as I have had a terrible (I mean nightmare costing me thousands) experience with another local dealership.

I'm not sure what to do. People have said its a bolt in the head? (cylinder head?) So could be engine be at risk? is my mpgs/performance suffering, etc?

o and the guy said he hadnt heard anything about hemi engines ticking. said the only problem hes had with any rams lately is the drivetrain in an 09

It is not a head bolt, but in 09 they had an issue with the exhaust manifold bolts, causing an exhaust leak which sounded like an engine tick, it is was/is a TSB on 09's. I do not think this affected more than 09's, but I could be wrong on that part.

A Hemi tick can be tracked all the way back to the beginning of the 5.7 Hemi in 03. Check the 3rd gen section. It does not appear to happen on all trucks, it usually only does it when cold and some reported more issues with different oil weights and some have reported more issues if using 87 octane on a consistent basis. Personally I do not think much of that matters in terms of the tick, but if one thing has shown it does not seem to affect anything as those with 3rd gens keep on piling on the miles. My 05 did not do it. My 09 and 12 had/have a faint tick when I first start it when it is cold, probably about 30 seconds worth. I often thought of oil additives, but do not want to mess up MDS and who says it is internal, could possibly be injectors.

I also do sort of agree about the forum comment, I said sort of. You have a base membership who usually answers questions and stay for years. Usually they are more the gear heads or real techs. Now if you compared that number to the number of users who post 1-10 times in their entire life on a forum you would see that their 1-10 posts are questions about an issue or at a minimum a question about MPG, especially when it turns cold outside LOL. So from that standpoint the majority of membership are actually people posting issues.

Sounds like the dreaded #7 & #8 exhaust bolts broke.
As for how many years effected with exhaust bolt issues, 2009 AND 2010 for sure.
You should be covered under your drivetrain warranty if you`re under the 5yr/100,000.

Just had the exhaust manifold bolt problem fixed on my 2010, so it is definitely not limited to 2009 models. The cold tick was very loud. Good thing is that it is covered under the 100K powertrain warranty.

The attitude of your service guy is simply ridiculous. His management needs to know how poorly he is representing their dealership and Chrysler.

As well as you too my good friend, been awhile.
I would definitly find another dealer an keep trying other dealers until its resolved if you can. Call chrysler, do what ever you have to, to get results. A lot of these service managers need to be unemployed on the spot for how they treat their customers. I blame chrysler for it, they dont do anything about their dealerships. Its very obvious that they dont give a ****, otherwise they`d be steppin up the efforts to save their company. I know chrysler dosen`t OWN the dealerships per say, but at least they could get after these ugly ones that treat customers like ****. Thers more bad ones than good ones... it SHOULD BE the other way around.
