Default TPMS / Security Lights Battery Drain

ok
i just checked the amps on the truck again

i let the truck set for about 10 minutes then i connected the amp meter and i had around 2.90 amps then after about 5 minutes it went down to .09 amps(90 mA)

i pulled fuse m38 -iod-ccn/interior mods

and it began jumping from .09 to .08 then i plugged the fuse back in( i did this 3 or 4 times to be sure) and the amps went up to about 2.90 again then again after 5 minutes back down to .09 and stays steady

what you think??

90 milliamps seems a little high to me but I'm not familiar with your vehicle model. Like I said earlier, both of my vehicles (2002 c5 vette & 2009 Ram) use up about 20 to 30 milliamps when resting.

Are your batteries going dead? if so, how long does it take. I would think that at 90 milliamps, they should last a couple of weeks.

if you got it down to .01 or .02 amps, then you should be good. I would charge the batteries up tonight and just watch it over the next few days.

I'm not familiar with the dual battery setup on the cummins but there is probably some kind of isolator to keep the batteries from pulling each other down.

When you have two parallel batteries and one is weaker then the other, it draws current from the stronger one and brings that one down. This keeps going back and forth until they are both bad. That is why you always replace both batteries at the same time.

It's interesting that you said that after you hooked up the other battery, the draw went down. I'm at a loss there.
