Default 2013 V6- what's missing here?

I changed my oil and noticed this hose. It has an open 90 degree elbow on it that was not connected to anything. I thought maybe I pulled it out by accident when removing the oil filter, but I cannot find anywhere, within the reach of the hose or beyond, where it could be plugged in.

I find it hard to believe this is designed to just be hanging there unattached. Before I bother the dealer, does anyone know if this unattached hose barb is normal...?

Thanks in advance for any insight...

It looks factory, Hemi 5.7 may use the same set up for emissions or egr, vacuum, etc, as your running a V6, you don't need the attachment that's on a Hemi.

Thanks for the info.....

I'm pretty sure the truck came that way.... I could not find any place it would/could plug into.... I just wanted to make sure the factory didn't forget to add a hose from that fitting to somewhere....

What's one the other end? That will help show what it's for.

Does it plug into somewhere on the cover you removed? The air cleaner assembly?

Nope.....

I looked everywhere the plug would reach. Both while it's clipped to another hose as I found it, and with it unclipped. I could find no place to plug it in.....
