The exact reason I went with the Goodyear Adventurers. Better then HPs and they are much like the Michelin in wearability. A good compromise over the more aggressive designs. They also have the 60K warranty like the Michelins. Don't get too hung up over tread depth. If it's deeper but wears faster, that could be worse for longevity. The best off-road tires are going to be extremely soft to perform best but will wear fast on the pavement. Originally Posted by BigBlueEdge

What's the most important thing to you?
Treadlife?
Ride?
Winter traction?
off-road?

These are the tires that I would recommend. I've had three different sets on two vehicles....great tire and affordable
Thanks for the ideas so far. The Firestone ones are too plain looking for my tastes.
I did see a truck with Nitto Terra Grapplers that looked really nice the other day. They were pretty large tires on aftermarket rims so I'm not positive how they would look in stock 20" size. I've seen pics and they don't seem bad. Reading reviews seems to indicate these might not have the greatest tread life though? Any experience here?
Another decent one I saw is the Toyo Open Country A/T II. They look quite nice, have great treadlife warranty (65,000 miles), are almost 10lbs lighter than my Zeons, and aren't terribly expensive ($244). Anyone have experience with these? How are they in the snow & ice?
Thanks,
Rob

Would any of these tire sizes fit a stock RAM 1500 with 20" rims without clearance issues?

I'm not interested in dropping a grand or more extra on new wheels. The Goodyear Duratracs are also too aggressive for my needs.

I've never really heard of any negative reviews of the Toyos. Plenty of people run them and like them. They are not that aggressive and have plenty of sipes so they should be pretty good when the the white stuff falls.
Personally, I would never run the E rated LT tires on a 1500. Their capacity far exceeds the trucks. No improvement but a much stiffer ride and a shorter warranty. I did it once but never again. It felt like riding on wagon wheels. It's all fine if you are into that though!!

I would say they would all fit on a 1500 with stock wheels. Plenty of room for tires on the 1500, and since they came with 275 60 20 the sizes you show are not much larger than stock. 20 mm is less than inch wider and 10 mm is less than a half inch wider

First time I ever heard someone say they wanted looks over performance on a set of expensive tires. but it takes all kinds to make the world go round. You have a two wheel drive truck, why do you want an aggressive looking tire
