Default check engine light

Hi....I have a 2013 ram 1500, with a 3.6 motor and 8 speed trans. today the check engine light came on. Oil temp is good but the oil kps is 688 and that is high should be only half that, it dont go up or down just stays on 688. Any thoughts as what might be wrong. Everything else is normal. Thanks

Do you have a local auto parts store chain where they hook up a scanner and read the codes? Their are literally thousands of possible reasons why the CEL is on and it would be impossible to guess.

Buy yourself a code reader. They pay for themselves the first time you use one.

Considering Auto Zone, Pep Boys, Advance Auto Parts and O'Reilly will read your codes for free it's still cheaper then buying a code reader. If you throw codes all the time for years on end then buying your own scanner would make sense. But in my three Ram's i have owned totaling 12 years and still going i have only had a CEL come on 3 times.
