Default crew cab and quad cab questions

I am in the market to replace my 03 quad cab. I have been looking online at the crew and quad cabs. They have the same rear bench right? The seatback angle seems different though. Aside from more foot room, is there any benefit? Is the current quad cab a little smaller in the back then mine? I found a smoking deal on a 2013 quad cab but if the back is smaller, it will not fit my kids eventually. Its pretty far away and at the limit of my finances so I dont want to go all the way to see it and be disappointed. The smaller bed of the crew cab is not an issue. This isn't a thread of which is better I don't want it to become that.

Way more room in the back of the crew. Unless you really need the extra bed length go for the crew.

Buy the crew cab. Way more room back there. Very comfortable for rear seat passengers.

Interesting numbers, the rear legroom on a 2014 crew cab is 40.3." and the 2003 Quad cab is 36.4" so the difference is only 4". BUT the rear legroom on a 2014 Quad cab is 34.7" about 2" smaller than the 03. Making the difference between the Quad and Crew variants about 6".

2" smaller may not seem like a lot, but with my kids already kicking the back of my seat...lol

So I guess to maximize space, ill have to go for the crew cab. Might just mean ill have to get an 2011-12 instead of a 2013-14. The newer infotainment system and 8 spd tranny would have been nice.

I don't believe there is any difference between the 2012 and 2013 crew cab legroom. Get the 8 speed, the gear spacing in the 6 speed are not optimal.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant since the crew cabs cost more than a quad cab, I might have to get an 2011-12 model as opposed to a 2013-14 model because of the increased cost.

If you can still find a new 2014, they should be offering incredible deals by now. I bought my Lone Star edition crew cab at the end of last summer, and got 2% under invoice and $4500 incentives, plus a free bed liner and front-window tinting. Came to about $10,000 below sticker.

Good idea. I did the same 2 years ago on my 2012. I just checked and was offered 90% of what I gave for it on trade in and it has 50,000 miles on it.
