Default Passenger high beam not working.

So a couple months ago I swapped out my stock headlights for a set of recons. They had been working fine up until a couple weeks ago when my passenger side high beam(uses same bulb for daytime runner) went out. Figured it was just the bulb burnt out. I finally had a chance to check it out yesterday and once I pulled the bulb out, it didn't look burnt. So I pulled the other headlight off and swapped bulbs and still nothing. I put both bulbs in the drivers side and both worked. So I checked for power going to the socket, had 12v but once I plugged the bulb in, I lost the power. Has anyone ever seen this before or have any solutions? Thanks

try the OEM bulbs, if that doesn't fix it, you may need a new TIPM

Not sure how the quad headlamps work for 100% certain, but try the OEM housing on that side. If the bulb still doesn't work, then it may be something along the lines of what Pedro said.

That's worth a shot, what is a TIPM?

Totally Integrated Power Module. Think of it as a Power Distribution Center (PDC/fuse box) on steroids.

That doesn't sound cheap, anyway of testing it?

Try cleaning the connector...the one outside of the housing. That solution fixed an intermittent issue with my passenger side low beam.

Are these recon lights HIDs? Do they have a ballast? If so, that may have failed. Try swapping ballasts between sides and see if the problem follows the ballast. Rob

The design of this truck for the head lamp drivers is moronic. There are no replaceable fuses that I am aware of. The TIPM drives the bulbs (or ballast for the HIDs) directly from the TIPM circuit board. All it takes is one ah $hit! to blow the TIPM and the replacement is not cheap.

They are not HIDs, just halogens.
