Driveline shudder or vibration.
Not after 2009. The VVT system obviated the need for them, they do magic with cam timing instead.
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, work has been a been crazy...
Also, I misspoke when I talked about the EGR valve. It was a valve/solenoid on the back of the fuel tank, used to pressure test the fuel vent lines, or some such. Was a pain in the *** to figure out, but replacing it did the trick. Didn't make the truck run any different, but I was tired of the FUEL CAP message, CHECK ENGINE light, and not being able to remote start the truck.
Regarding the loud jet airplane sound coming from under the hood, I've had that happen before. Like you, it's done it on occasion since I've owned the truck, but I haven't noticed a decline in performance when this happens??
And yes, my truck is a 2014 Lonestar Edition

do you mean the esim?
Prime, can't remember what it's called, to be honest. I know that it's used prior to engine start to determine if there's a leak somewhere in the fuel delivery system.
This damn shudder is getting bad. Runs better if I keep it in Tow/Haul and turn off the MDS, but I hate that I'm just waiting for it to go **** up.

I'm having some very similar symptoms in my 2014 Ram 1500 4x4 v8 with 147k miles. Was there any resolution to this? Did it end up being the torque converter? Did anyone replace the TC and no longer have the issue? Thanks in advance!
Sorry it took me so long to respond to this. I meant to update the thread upon resolution, and well, life got in the way.
So I had resigned myself to the fact that the tranny was just going to go south. Nobody could tell me for sure what was wrong with it, and I was just going to drive it until it tanked. Then I would replace or rebuild it. I figured that was my only viable option. Well, I was at the stealership, having a couple of keys programmed, and I was complaining about the issues from my truck, specifically that I suspected that I had a truck with a bad tranny, and that I couldn't do anything about it, because I couldn't get a warranty. I was then advised that I could, in fact, buy a warranty that would cover the power train (among other things). Cost was about $2000 with a $200 deductible per visit. I was informed that I could have multiple issues fixed on a visit. I thought about it, and pulled the trigger.
I had to wait a month to bring it in, so I waited patiently, and took her in for an evaluation.
Turns out the torque converter was bad, requiring a complete transmission replacement. Additionally, my Uconnect radio head needed to be replaced, and I had some front parking sensors out.
After it was all said and done, I have a new transmission and radio. Both came with a 2 year, unlimited mile warranty. My total cost was 2200 smackers. Theirs? $8300!!!
If you decide to go this route, you need to hurry. You only have until 150,000 miles to purchase it!!!
Good luck...

Oh man, you are a lifesaver! I’d also tried to get a warranty but had been told there were too many miles on my truck. After your recommendation, I started looking again. The stealership wanted $2200 for a 12 month power train only plan, but I’d need to get the truck inspected before then to make sure there weren’t any issues… I ended up finding a company called Carchex, who offered me a warranty on power train components and A/C for $141/month. Have to wait 30 days and drive 1000 miles, but if the TC holds out that long, I’ll only be out a few hundred bucks!
I’ll let y’all know in a month if everything works out!

Glad my experience helped someone!
Still, I still quite PIS$$ that after I took care of her like this, I have the tranny go south after just 143K. Not to mention all the other things too. I've only put in the best fluids, fuel, filters, etc... No heavy towing, no hot rodding, and 90% of my miles are highway miles. Oh well...
Anyway, good luck, and make sure to let us know how it all plays out!
Cheers!
