Hardware kit for the reinforcement brackets came yesterday, so I popped the panels back off and installed the 3 nutcerts and screws per door.

Hi guys, new to the forum here.
I have a 2016 Ram 1500 with manual folding towing mirrors. Am I correct when reading the specs for the Trail Ridge power folding mirrors that they will only work if you already have power folding? If so, is there anyway to go from manual to power?

They make an upgrade version (that costs more) that is for trucks that do not have the power folding option

Thanks for the quick reply old Jeep. Looks like these would run me about $424. That's a far cry from the $1400 I saw from a website called 'infotainment'. Am I missing something there? This kit would include everything? The new button cluster that fits in the door too?

If you look at the listings there are Q&A that answer everything you are asking, as well as a picture of the button they provide to fold the mirrors. It does not provide the factory style button

The upgrade mirrors do not come with the assembly that replaces the OEM switch assembly, but, as mentioned above, comes with a switch that can be mounted elsewhere in the truck. I chose to mount mine in the little triangular piece that covers the mounting locations for the mirror. The switch I received with mine kit is a Hyundai part. Also, the upgrade mirrors do not come with the reinforcement brackets but fortunately my 1500 already had them since I had the factory manual folding towing mirrors.

Thanks Rod. My truck also already has the factory installed manual towing mirrors, so I'm assuming the brackets are there too. Wasn't aware that the button had to be mounted elsewhere. Thought it would go right in to the cluster of buttons on the door. Tough to install?

The online instructions for installation are pretty good, although I opted to install my switch in the door since the location they suggested is not available in my 2014. I tapped in to power from the Driver's Door Module with reduced the number of wires I needed to run through the door accordion boot to the cab. The other reason I prefer where I mounted the switch is because if I were to ever go back to manual mirrors I would only need to replace the small little trim piece rather than leaving a hole in the dash or door panel. Here's a photo of where I mounted my switch.

Thanks again Rod. That will surely be something to consider. When you mention the online instructions, are you referring to the videos?. I've been trying to find the written instructions, maybe in PDF format that I could go over before I decide what to do. I called 1aauto but had no luck there. If there's a link that I could go to, it would be greatly appreciated.
