According to *theory*, anything over 10PSI at operating temp, at idle, is OK. An additional 10 psi/1000 rpm above that, to a max of 60-80. The more miles on the engine, the lower the pressure is going to be at idle.
What is the normal transmission temp for 2014 dodge ram 1500 5.7 hemi? and also the normal oil pressure when idleling
my 09 withe the 5 speed - at operating temps w,out towing - trans 180-190, oil pressure idle at 600rpm ~26 F, 2000rpm ~50 PSI
my 17 withe the 8 speed - at operating temps w,out towing - trans 174-178, oil pressure idle at 700rpm ~30 F, 2000rpm ~51 PSI
my 17 runs in the 180s usually for trans temp, iirc i read something on allpar that 180-190 is the ideal range for the 8 speed and that they dont want it running any cooler than that for overall system efficiency.
when warmed up it idles in the 35psi range, cruises down the highway in the mid 50s
my 09 withe the 5 speed - at operating temps w,out towing - trans 180-190, oil pressure idle at 600rpm ~26 F, 2000rpm ~50 PSI
my 17 withe the 8 speed - at operating temps w,out towing - trans 174-178, oil pressure idle at 700rpm ~30 F, 2000rpm ~51 PSI
This right here is what my 2014 5.7L runs with the 8 speed.
