TNtech, so you are saying that this is sort of "planned obsolescence"? Since vehicles tend to last longer, they'll just restrict availability of parts to force people to trade for new cars.

They are only required by law to maintain parts for 10 years. And yes, it is in their best interests to have people buy something new instead..... That, and having a large inventory of spare parts, actually costs them money, first by having them made, then shipped, then stored, for however long...... (usually on some warehouse shelf.....) Electronic parts become hard to find first...... then the hard parts. Used market is sometimes your ONLY choice.
Now, with dodge offering a 'lifetime" warranty, they HAD To know that some folks would hang on to their trucks till the wheels fell off, and would bolt them back on, and keep driving. Also, his truck isn't even 10 years old yet. (technically) Or, at worst, is JUST 10 years old. He has a warranty, Dodge should do what needs to be done to honor that warranty, otherwise, I could see a class-action lawsuit coming from it.
