That is correct. Is there a return signal while cranking?

I am not sure, would you happen to know what color the return signal wire is?

I don't have wiring diagrams for that year.... and my favorite site doesn't appear to have them either...... Should be a three wire sensor...... one is 5 volt feed, one will be a ground, and the third wire will be signal return back to PCM. Not sure if that is going to be a square wave, or sine wave though...... I *think* a test light would flash, (poke one end into signal return wire, ground the other end.) Or, an analog meter the needle would bounce. (meter might be best bet, as it won't really care what the signal is, it'll still react, but, gotta have an analog meter, digital meter won't react fast enough.)

A standard test light will be even slower than a digital multimeter and draw more current as well. If you have an LED test light that might work okay, but an oscilloscope would be best for testing for signal.

Ok, I will try that so if there is no signal then what? And if there is what? I read somewhere that buying a mopar sensor worked for someone where a autozone brand didn't work is this true?

The trucks have a reputation for not liking aftermarket sensors in critical locations...... Cam sensor being one of them.
