Default AC Vent Temp

My 2011 has never had the AC serviced since new. It's not even 100 degrees yet, but when i get in the truck at the end of the day, the AC doesn't cool very well. I have the dash set to LO, it might be 50 or 60 degrees at the vent (I haven't measured it) but the main cabin takes forever to cool off to a comfortable level with the fan at 80%.

What is a standard acceptable vent temperature? Does refrigerant "wear out"? Since it comes out cool-ish, I doubt it's a pressure/cycling issue?

Should have between 18 to 20 degree difference between return air and supply air.

That's all?

What bothers me is that it doesn't cool off at all on my 30 minute home. It's not sweating hot, but it's not as ice cold as I would like, either.

I think you should be able to get more of a drop than that..... When properly charged, I have had a/c systems cranking out 55 degree air, on 90 degree, high-humidity days.......

Does your compressor cycle a lot? Or does it run pretty much constantly? Getting good airflow? Blend door issue perhaps??

Maybe your recirculate door is stuck to the outside. If you recirculate the indoor air, the 20 degrees diff, is enough to get you cool.

I don't think it's cycling, but i don't open the hood very often...

And yes, I always have it on recirculate. Plenty of CFM with fan on high, it's just not bone-chilling cold.

I'd be having a look at the blend door(s?) then.
