Default 6.7l DPF woes!

First time posting. I drive an 09 Dodge Ram 3500, 6.7l Cummins, running 33’s with a 2” levelling kit installed. Everything else is bone stock. Had an issue recently when display said “dpf filter full, power reduced, see dealer.” Ripped the dpf filter out and found it couldn’t be cleaned, so knocked the guts out of it and put it back in. Truck is running ok, but still throwing codes. I’ve read reviews and it sounds like I need to get an aftermarket tuner to trick the truck into thinking the filter is still there. My question is, what if I don’t do the tuner and just run as is, what damage am I going to do to the truck? Thx in advance

How much are the filters? Seems to me, a filter should be significantly cheaper than a tuner...... considering you would need on custom tuned.....

2 grand, for a FILTER?????? Holy crap, that's just stupid.

Checking around, you are quite correct. Holy smokes, that is just INSANE.

Yep, tuner would be MUCH cheaper. Of course, if they have emissions testing/inspections in your area, that may cause other problems......
